The role is responsible for ensuring adherence to legislation, regulatory standards, and internal quality objectives associated with the institute’s status as an approved Institute of Higher Education and CRICOS provider.Working in consultation with academic and operational managers, the role requires the Quality Assurance Manager to guide, motivate and communicate with key stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes that enhance the student experience and ensure regulatory compliance. About youYou have extensive experience coordinating governance, risk management, and quality assurance activities. You promote a culture of quality and risk awareness, excellence, and continuous improvement. You have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and can establish collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.You lead by applying your depth and breadth of expertise, and by reviewing and applying best practices in the management of regulatory submissions and communications including in relation to the renewal of provider registration and course accreditations. You have excellent problem-solving, change management, and time management skills.You have the ability to manage practices and processes that facilitate and support high-quality outcomes. Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Compliance Manage the institutional secretariat function and governance framework including, the scheduling, preparation, and coordination of meeting papers and minutes of meetings of the governing bodies and their sub-committeesDevelop, manage and implement activities and controls within the quality assurance framework to support ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations and standards, particularly the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021 and National Code 2018Lead and oversee the implementation of the policy framework to manage risk, promote quality outcomes, and support efficient business operations, including the development of new policy, review of existing policy, advice and guidance on policy intent and implementation, and the maintenance of the policy librariesLead and oversee reporting as part of the annual TEQSA Provider Information Request and contribute to other reporting activities such as student data collection, financial viability, and tuition assurance declarations as requiredManage the internal audit function including undertaking annual audits against regulatory standardsMonitor, research, analyse and make recommendations for change based on legislative and regulatory developments and sector best practiceManage the preparation and submission of regulatory applications to achieve intended outcomes within regulatory mandated timeframesManage the student grievance and appeals processesManage the compliance of the institutional website, course brochures, and marketing materialsAct as the Privacy Officer and the Whistle-blower Investigations OfficerManage the Compliance Schedule, and Compliance Breaches RegisterPrepare and manage the implementation of project plans for longer-term applications, such as the renewal of provider registration and course accreditation Support the People and Culture Manager with policy review and approval processes from the Board as required Leadership and Relationship Management Foster and maintain collaborative working relationships with functional managers and key stakeholdersPromote a culture of quality and risk awareness and encourage collaboration, innovation, and quality-driven outcomes across business operationsAct as the leading representative for quality assurance on governing bodies and related sub-committees (as required)Build and maintain collaborative relationships with regulatory bodies, professional associations, and other providers to foster their interest in, commitment to, and support of Ikon as a quality higher education provider Education, Experience, and SkillsTertiary qualification within any discipline (post-graduate level preferred) At least 5 years or more of demonstrable practical experience in quality assurance, governance, and risk management functions within the higher education sector and ideally a CRICOS provider Preferably 2 years or more of demonstrable management and leadership experience in a private higher education environmentDemonstrated operational management skills to manage projects and tasks involving a range of stakeholders that deliver quality outcomes and meet workflow demands and tight deadlinesDeep working knowledge and understanding of the higher education sector in Australia, including the Higher Education Support Act 2003, Higher Education Standards Framework 2021, ESOS Act 2000, National Code 2018, and Australian Qualifications FrameworkDemonstrated experience in interpreting legislation, regulatory standards and guidelines, with the ability to translate into practical requirements and develop solutions appropriate to the business to ensure compliance and quality outcomesDemonstrated ability and capacity to implement effective, efficient, and best-practice solutionsStrategic thinker with excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills to provide expert recommendations, reporting, and documentationStrong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality written material such as regulatory submissions and applications, governance minutes, and policyCapacity to contribute to and reinforce quality assurance practices, a culture of quality and risk awareness, and a commitment to excellence and continuous improvementAbility to develop effective working relationships, make judgments and influence others through persuasion and discussionAbility to self-motivate, be flexible and be well organised to manage, at times, unpredictable and variable workloadsHigh level of integrity and strong ethical principles with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team as required Why work with Ikon?
